Regular price Sale price £24.95
Born in the beautiful mountainous region of Kagoshima, Japan, our renowned ceremonial-grade matcha is grown only once a year from our exclusive, award-winning family farm. It consists of only the utmost finest first harvest baby leaves, which have been shade grown for up to 25 days in mineral rich, volcanic soil, and then traditionally stone milled into a fine velvety powder for maximum strength.
Packed full of brain-boosting amino acids, and bacteria-fighting antioxidants, every serving is highly concentrated with nutrients such as polyphenols, antioxidants and l-theanine that will have you launching into a transcendent state of alpha brain-wave nirvana.
Enjoy a deeply rich and balanced flavour profile, boasting notes of creamy dark chocolate and roasted hazelnut, with a very smooth yet floral umami finish.
Most commonly used for: Matcha tea, iced matcha tea, lattes, smoothies, blended drinks
  • 1 Pouch - 50g | 50 servings
  • Only a limited supply is produced annually through superior cultivation
  • 100% certified organic by the Organic Food Federation UK
  • Routinely tested for heavy metals and radiation
  • 100% all natural - no additives, preservatives, fillers or sugars
  • Non GMO

Since 100% of the leaf is consumed, you're also ingesting all of the lead. If the tea leaves were high in lead, then the matcha becomes highly contaminated.

Why is this a concern? Excessive exposure to lead can cause reduced brain function and motor skills. It's the most common contaminant in urban soils.

High levels of not only lead but other potentially dangerous metals are found in lesser quality matcha.

OUR APPROACH

Heavy metals find their way into matcha when brands grow on huge industrial farms with poor soil quality and heavy reliance on chemical fertilisers and pesticides. They then skip the all important heavy metal checks to save their precious profit margins, resulting in matcha that is potentially toxic to our health.

Seeing this research made us even more determined to produce the healthiest, cleanest and safest matcha on the planet. This is why we only source the highest quality matcha and batch test our products to ensure they are 100% safe.

Matcha is the most premium variety of shade-grown Japanese green tea leaves that are stone ground into a fine powder. For centuries, monks have enjoyed matcha to support well-being and concentration during meditation, and samurai warriors before battle to help them stay calm and alert.

In fact, one serving is equivalent to 10 cups of regular green tea in terms of its nutritional value and antioxidant content. That's why it's used as an energy boost that promotes great health and supports your immune system, so you can be more productive and energised for the things you love.

Our growing region is so unique due to the subtropical climate with distinct seasons, and a precipitation pattern that provides the perfect growing conditions.

The high-altitude, fresh air and mineral-rich, volcanic soil is what makes the leaves so nutrient-dense and the perfect location to blend our potent matcha.

Here are a few reasons why we're so different:
  1. The plants are shade-grown in volcanic soil for up to 25 days before harvest to boost nutrient production.
  2. In the spring, only the finest leaves are selectively handpicked. It takes a true tea master to know when and what leaves to use.
  3. The leaves are then steamed and dried after harvest to preserve flavour and nutrients.
  4. De-stemming and de-veining of the leaves are done to improve the texture and taste of the powder.
  5. The leaves are then lightly roasted and slowly stone milled for up to 1 hour (per 30g), whilst being pulverised into a fine powder - keeping delicate nutrients intact.
  6. The finished matcha is packaged into special airtight, high grade packaging to prevent oxidation from air and light, whilst maintaining optimum freshness.

We only stone-mill our fresh organic leaves to meet demand, which ensures optimum freshness and potency. We NEVER store our matcha for months on end.

Lastly, we shade-grow the plants at the right time of the season to develop higher levels of focus boosting amino acids, improve the flavour, reduce bitterness, and yield higher levels of strong antioxidants and calming amino acids.

Increased Alertness & Productivity - Matcha contains 35mg of caffeine (per serving) for that extra kick, but unlike a cup of coffee matcha gradually releases the caffeine into your body for a period of up to 6 hours. This is due to a rare natural energy boosting amino acid called L-theanine -- which gives you sustainable energy and focus throughout the day, without any side effects that are associated with caffeine consumption, such as the 'jitters', a crash, anxiety or mood plummets.

Promotes Weight Loss - According to research published in the American Journal of Nutrition, matcha has been shown to increase thermogenesis (the rate at which our bodies burn calories) from 8-10% to 35-43%. Matcha can also boost metabolism and increase fat burning by up to 17% without raising blood pressure or heart rate. A 2005 study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that participants who drank catechin-rich green tea daily dropped almost twice as much weight in 12 weeks as participants who didn't. They also found that the catechins are associated with reduced BMI and waist circumference.

Protects From Cell Damage & Lower Risk Of Chronic Diseases - According to Harvard research, green tea is the best food source of a group of antioxidants known as catechins. Research has shown catechins (such as EGCG) to be more powerful than both vitamins C and E in stopping oxidative damage to cells. They also appear to have other disease-fighting abilities. Published in the Journal of Chromatography, the results were groundbreaking. The researchers discovered that, “The concentration of EGCG available from drinking matcha is 137 times greater than the amount of EGCG available from China Green Tips green tea".

Enhances Cognitive Function & Boosts Memory - Matcha contains high amounts of L-theanine, an amino acid that increases the production of serotonin and dopamine in the brain. According to research published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Nutrition, the increased production of dopamine and serotonin helps you to learn and perform better. These two chemicals serve to enhance mood, improve memory, and promote better concentration for up to 6 hours without a crash.

Improve Skin Health - The catechins in matcha help protect and reduce your skin from free radicals, preventing signs of ageing. Due to the amazing anti-inflammatory properties of EGCG, it also helps treat rosacea and even acne by reducing redness. In a study published by the Medical College of Georgia, the EGCG found in green tea rejuvenated surface skin cells that would otherwise die. Not only does matcha reduce inflammation, it also stimulates elastin production to add volume to the skin, while protecting against free radicals that cause sun damage, age spots, dry skin, and yes, wrinkles. This is why some people use it directly on their faces!

Strengthens Immune System - One cup of our matcha has as many nutrients and antioxidants as 10 cups of regular green tea. It's packed with exponentially more antioxidants than any other superfood, including chlorophyll. Chlorophyll in matcha is a very effective detoxifier that can aid in the elimination of unwanted toxins, chemicals and heavy metals from your body. Chlorophyll increases the blood’s capacity to deliver oxygen and other nutrients to cells within the body, which helps the body regenerate and cleanse itself at the cellular level. Consuming a daily cup of matcha is an easy way to incorporate detoxification into your everyday life.

in love with matcha

Love the product, small packet slightly expensive for me but last ages and no bitter taste. I was a “coffee addict” and I couldn’t imagine that it will be so easy to go from coffee to matcha… really no need a coffee any more. In two weeks completely different energy levels and overall only benefits! Highly would recommend to try matcha.

Very Good

Like to have this for breakfast. All flavours tasted very nice. Liked the crunchy texture of the ingredients; not like other powder protein that I have gotten before that just clump together. Will be ordering again as very quality product.

It seems my earlier review was unfounded due to my error I blamed customer services. However the error message was with me. I have found Macha to be extremely beneficial with my aches, pains and general health I would recommend this item.

Matcha

I love it. Sometimes drink just as tea or I add a little local honey. I also like to add it to my breakfast shake in the morning. Its great no head aches either which I use to get from the wrong caffeine

Love it!

I wasn’t sure I would like the flavour and I debated for a while about whether to go for it or not… I decided to take the plunge and I don’t regret it. I have it with oat milk first thing in the morning. I have replaced coffee with this and I feel my morning workouts/swims are more energised and I generally feel better for it. It suppresses my appetite too. All in all, very pleased.

Great product

I received my initial order in good time and started right away. Feeling much more focussed and energised after just a week. 1 tsp once a day at the moment.
Just one downside - I logged in to set up a monthly subscription but am finding it difficult as after logging in and putting my requirements into my basket it asks me to log in again then doesn’t recognise my details - quite frustrating. I have liaised with your online support team who have passed on my enquiry to the tech team - I await a response.
But all in all great product - thanks.

No fuel sticks!

I’m on the matcha train and I’m not getting off! No coffee for 9 days straight, I’ve ordered 3 more bags - this stuff is unbelievable! Only tried with hot water so far, can’t wait to try some of the other suggestion.

Only 4 stars as I thought the starter came with fuel sticks like the photo shows.

Powerful little bugger

This is a powerful little bugger I use this for my meal shake as well. Be careful when using this to froth your Matcha cos it will spill. It would be nice if there was a lower setting on this but apart from that I love it

Now you can get the perfect scoop of matcha every time, with our essential quick and easy Matcha Measuring Spoon!

One spoon equals 2g of matcha, the perfect measure to drink it every day with water, milk or your favourite mixture.

Nice little spoon

I have received my spoon today and I've been surprised that is made out of metal not a plastic! It is well made and worth of its price. There won't be no more confusion of how much tea to use😉

Good Quality

The spoon is really helpful with serving size and makes sure that I don’t waste any of my matcha. The spoon itself is strong and sturdy and I know will last me a long time!

This really helped me

I've had some minor issues when knowing how much matcha to use, i'm very sensitive to caffeine so i need to know the exact measurements that i'm consuming daily. It was great when matcha fuel recommended me an exact amount, and even better when they came out with the exact measurement in a spoon! This really is the perfect amount for the nicest taste (not to weak or strong) and a great standard amount for a daily caffeine kick! Also i love a good quality utensil and this is certainly one that will last a lifetime of dishwashing! :)
